So its officially FREEZING in good ol' Nebraska and I don't know about you guys, but I could do without the cold. While this brisk weather is inevitable and I can't see Mother Nature changing her ways very soon, I found a way to temporarily escape the goosebumps and its called the Lauritzen Gardens!
Lauritzen Gardens, located off I-80 in between Omaha and Council Bluffs, is a botanical sanctuary. This massive greenhouse is open year round with four-seasons plant displays. Whether you are a curious botanist, a tourist, or just someone who is allergic to the cold (like myself), a trip to the gardens is worth your time!
Apparently, this falls trendy colors do not just apply to clothes, but flowers as well. Reds? Purples? Yellows? Lauritzen's chrysanthemums display nailed it and left me absolutely speechless! Mum's the word, amiright?
It's not everyday that your outfits color scheme can be made up of flowers
I can't help but feel a wave of zen fall over me every time I walk out of the gardens. Who would of thought such a tropical sanctuary would lie in the continental climate of Nebraska? With the hectic holidays approaching and more chilly days ahead of us, I suggest a trip to Lauritzen Gardens for a little escape. Take a book, find a bench, and let's lounge by the lily pond!
Looking for some holiday activities for the family? Lauritzen Gardens has an amazing poinsettia display that begins November 24th. Also check out our festive, new arrivals online and in store now. Happy Holidays!
